# Credits & Billing

## What are credits?

Credits are Plera's usage currency. Every time Plera calls an external service on your behalf - finding leads, enriching profiles, sending messages - it costs credits.

Your subscription tier determines how many credits your workspace receives each billing period.

## What costs credits?

| Operation                             | Credit cost                     |
| ------------------------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Discovery preview                     | 2 credits                       |
| Saved discovery or Clue result        | 4 credits per result            |
| Email/contact enrichment              | 6 credits per successful lead   |
| Other enrichment field                | 3 credits per successful field  |
| AI message generation or regeneration | 2 credits per generated message |
| Email or LinkedIn send                | 2 credits per successful send   |

  Sequence launch itself does not cost credits. Credits are used as messages are generated and successfully sent.

## Checking your credit balance

Your current balance is visible in:

* The top navigation bar
* **Account -> Billing**

You can see a breakdown of how credits have been used over time in the billing dashboard.

## What happens when credits run out?

If your workspace runs out of credits, active campaigns will pause at their current step. No messages will be sent and no enrichment will run until credits are topped up or your subscription renews.

You'll receive an in-app notification and email when your balance drops below a threshold.

## Topping up

Credits can be purchased through **Account -> Billing**. Subscription plans also include automatic credit top-ups on renewal.
